Translations Underway
Monday, March 1st, 2010“It’s Fun!” “It’s nice to translate.” “I really like translating” were phrases bouncing around the inside of Nazareth Hall with the noise of laughter, clicking cups of coffee and clicking keyboards. Nearly 20 people had gathered to translate the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene into four and hopefully five different languages. Using a new web based tool designed by World Mission Communications, the groups were quickly working through the material. Laptops and projectors helped with the collaboration.
The Morning swarmed with technical people getting things set up. Cables, cords and routers were installed. Initial training was done and soon the teams were hard at work. A few more technical glitches smoothed out and the words began to fly onto the website.
Hopefully we will have the translations completed by this Friday. Pray for us!
